Olympians Devon Kershaw and Chandra Crawford raise cycling awareness in Toronto
The Share the Road Cycling Coalition invites you to an evening with Olympic Cross Country skiers Devon Kershaw and Chandra Crawford. Purchase tickets in advance on our Event Registration Page.
Devon first joined forces with Share the Road last year when he and Coalition Founder and CEO Eleanor McMahon organized a Share the Road Ride in Devon’s hometown, Sudbury (July 2009) in memory of Devon’s girlfriend and former national teammate Sophie Marin who was killed on a training ride on her bike in Sudbury on June 3, 2001.
Devon has dedicated time and energy to promoting the work of the Share the Road Cycling Coalition and on the evening of April 21st, will inspire attendees with details of his Olympic performance in Vancouver and his passion for the values of "sharing the road", and the work of the Coalition.
Share the Road Rides have been held in Burlington since 2006, in memory of Ms. McMahon’s husband and former OPP Sergeant Greg Stobbart, killed on a training ride on June 6, 2006. In brief remarks, Eleanor will outline progress made by the Coalition on building a Bicycle Friendly Ontario including details on first time Share the Road Rides planned for Canmore, home of the national cross country ski team, and Ottawa.
